The Rochester International Film Festival, the world’s oldest continuously-held short film festival, has been produced each year since 1959 by Movies on a Shoestring, Inc. Each festival includes a wide variety of narrative films, documentaries, and animations submitted by independent filmmakers from all parts of the world.

All filmmakers are invited to submit entries for consideration. Each film selected for the festival is awarded our distinctive Shoestring Trophy. Since films are made to be seen, we offer appreciative, movie-wise audiences to view your work at the Dryden Theatre, George Eastman House International Museum of Film and Photography in Rochester, NY.

The Best of the Fest, RIFF’s permanent traveling collection, includes the most popular films from previous festivals based on audience surveys taken at each show. Films from this collection may be borrowed for non commercial use.

The Short Shorts Film Festival will celebrate its 12th anniversary this year!  The festival dates in Tokyo are June 10-20, 2010, then the festival will continue its annual National and International Tour.

In 1999 the Short Shorts Film Festival was established in Harajuku, Tokyo in order to introduce Japanese audiences to the world of short films, and has since taken 7 national tours with more than 140,000 audience members.

The festival Grand Prix winner will be selected from the three Best Short Award winners (one from each category: International, Asia International and Japan ), and will become eligible to be nominated for an Academy Award.

The International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography PLUS CAMERIMAGE is the greatest and most recognized festival dedicated to the art of cinematography and its creators – cinematographers. It is held annually in Lodz, the second biggest city in Poland, the capital of the Polish cinema. PLUS CAMERIMAGE contributes to the growth of cinematographers’ prestige. The unconventional format of the Festival, which awards films according to their visual, aesthetic and technical values, has turned out to be an alternative for traditional film festivals. As all our guests emphasize - PLUS CAMERIMAGE is unique. The Festival proves to be a great forum not only for presentation but also for further development of international moviemaking. The Saugatuck Center for the Arts (SCA) was founded in 2001 by a group of community members in Saugatuck, Michigan. The group turned a renovated pie factory into the home of year-round program of high quality arts programming.

The Film & Video Festival was created to provide an occasion for the students and teaching faculty at BFA and at some other Film and TV schools in China to appreciate and learn from the works of students from all over the world. The festival seeks to strengthen personal and professional exchanges between Film and TV schools around the world and to encourage and support the next genneration of Film and Television professionals. The 8th Annual Miami Short Film Festival presented by the University of Miami will run from November 13-22nd 2009, with Opening Night “Green Carpet” Gala on Saturday, November 14th. The Festival’s home and central venue will be the Bill Cosford Cinema in Coral Gables, with screenings also held at the Miami Beach Cinematheque on Espanola Way and Miami Children’s Museum.

Categories accepted are: Animation, Documentary, Experimental, Narrative, and a new category for 2009, Environmental. Submissions are currently closed, but will eagerly open up again in March 2010. This year we received a record 600+ submissions from over 30 different countries.

The Miami Short Film Festival (MsFF) is a not-for-profit arts organization founded in 2002 by the dedicated producer/actor William Vela.

MsFF’s goal year after year focuses on motivating directors, screenwriters, actors, and producers to make their films and share them with fellow film makers and industry professionals.

Serving as a platform to filmmakers around the world, the festival has screened over 800 short films from more than 40 countries. MsFF is an international event and the only film festival in South Florida dedicated exclusively to the short form.

The Macabre World of Lavender Williams has been selected for the Asiana International Short Film Festival in Seoul, Korea!

In preparation for international competition, Lavender Williams will be translated, subtitled and promoted for AISFF2009.
